Lawrence Leung might be magic and for his last show of the 2016 Melbourne Comedy Festival, he cast a relaxed but curious spell over the audience. ‘Strange Things’ suited the Beckett Theatre in the Malthouse complex perfectly and Lawrence used the space well.
Lawrence’s show has elements of comedy but his main focus is leaving an impression on the audience. Immediately after the show, Lawrence had the audience questioning their sense of reality with complete strangers huddled in circles trying to explain his wizardry.
If you have seen Lawrence’s entire back catalogue of TV shows then you might already be aware of elements of the show; however, the performance element should keep you sufficiently entertained!
