‘Nosfer-ARSE-tu’ is a re-imagining of the 1922 German Expressionist vampire film. It follows a hapless doctor on a ‘frivolous homosexual adventure’, where he stumbles upon a spooky time, and an even spookier head vampire”.
PO PO MO CO has taken their trademark physicality as well as their over-the-top raunchiness and created an endlessly mischievous but entertaining pantomime play. The show has many sexual elements and explores sexuality in an upfront but humorous way. While there were moments that the show went a bit far in regards to the simulation of stimulation, these are conducted in good faith and the humour breaks any “sexy” vibe. The show instead focuses on the ridiculousness of what the audience is witnessing.
While each of the PO PO MO CO performers are brilliant in their own right, Amaya Vecellio stood out for setting the atmosphere for the night. She excelled in her role of helping the audience forget their troubles and getting the crowd in the mood to immerse themselves in the pantomime.
‘Nosfer-ARSE-tu’ is presented in such a cheeky way (no pun intended) that it is inherently endearing. This adults-only show is not for the faint hearted but if you leave your preconceptions at the door and immerse yourself in this delightfully silly show, you will have fun.
Check out PO PO MO CO at the MICF from 13 to 22 April 2018. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
