Michael is an adept stand-up comedian who has pulled together a refined show filled with stories and the occasional punchier one-liner. Performing to a supportive crowd, he brought consistent and solid laughs throughout the show, with an excellent laugh per minute (LPM) rate. While there were jokes that were tailored to subsections of the audience, particularly about being Jewish, these jokes did not dominate the show or alienate other members of the audience.
This old-school stand-up show is delivered well and has largely relatable content yet it did not feel innovative in its humour. Michael has a deeper side to his comedy brain that was not on display in this show but one can understand the desire to put on a show that appeals to the greatest number.
‘Kosher Bacon’ is a polished MICF effort that is accessible and will appeal to most, especially to stand-up newcomers.
