The “gentleman elf” is a talented comedian who interacts with the crowd well; the banter and the asides all combine to make this show a really enjoyable experience as an audience member.
In this relaxed mood, ‘Post-Joke Era’ touches on important issues, some of which appear personal to DeAnne. The issues are dealt with in a playful and safe way that drives the humour and helps make the jokes so funny.
DeAnne may hit some notes that particular audience members with pre-conceived notions of identity may find uncomfortable but this is an important element of the show. These topics need to be talked about and DeAnne has the comedic skill and platform from which to do it!
I want to be friends with DeAnne and judging by the glowing faces of other audience members eagerly waiting to get a hug or a photo after the show, they do too! DeAnne’s comedy is hilarious but it is their personable nature that takes the show to the next level.
