I am so shattered I missed ‘A Little Less Conversation 1 and 2’. Dave Callan put on a show unlike any other of the festival in ‘A Little Less Conversation 3’. Despite his injury (hope you feel better soon mate!), Dave appeared to put his heart and soul into the performance even so late in the festival!
Dave’s show provides an excellent opportunity to talk about passion in comedy. It would appear that Dave has found comedy that not only is hilarious and entertaining but also something he enjoys! While I appreciate a well-oiled and clinical set as much as the next comedy lover, there is something just so captivating about genuine enjoyment. Some comedians who have a clinical set do enjoy themselves but there reaches a point where it really is about getting the job done and not about the entertainment.
This show would not be as funny or entertaining if it weren’t for the four dancers! My sincere apologies, but I was only able to find three of their names, if you know the fourth, please let me know on Twitter or in the Contact section. Jess Quinn, Emma Russell, Amber Liebenberg and Mystery Girl elevate the show to another level. It isn’t prudent to discuss the best dancer in this format as my comedy companion (a dancer) and I are still arguing who the best dancer was. Nevertheless, a special mention has to go to Jess for her engaging character and style on stage!
This show is truly unique and was a pleasure to attend! Dave, on the smallest chance you ever read this, and I mean this in the least creepiest way I can, I really want to give you a hug and talk about comedy! I will even dance to win your affection if required!
