After catching Blake’s 2017 MICF effort, it was clear he has a comedic brain that looks at the world differently. In his 2018 MICF show, he appears to have set himself a goal to test the audience’s limits between the laughs and the groans (as well as the occasional ‘oh no you can’t say that’ moment)!
Blake’s onstage persona is much like his personality in “real life”. He is not looking to offend, rather he presents as an affable comedian who is exploring his craft. Utilising a creative voice over and his trusty guitar, Blake demonstrated some creative material around sex, sex (not a typo), some social commentary and his perspective as a young performer.
While it appears Blake has not had the ideal preparation for the festival (check his Instagram page) meaning ‘Unknown Comedian’ may be a little raw, he has the talent to rally and put on a MICF show he is proud of.
