This show appeared to capture the essence of being a teacher and all of the frustration and joy that goes along with the role. Ben showed his talent in this show through stand-up, singing, rapping and even clever use of multimedia.
Ben covered the different types of parents, the favourite students and highlighted the issues of teaching kids in a hilarious way. Backed by a supportive audience (that featured a fair few teachers), Ben used the momentum to put on a strong show and incorporated the audience’s requested heckles well.
While there was a degree of repetition to the humour in the latter stages of the show, I was impressed with the creativity and skill required to pull off the set elements. Ben delivered a relaxed but charismatic performance that charmed the crowd, particularly a gentlemen in the front row.
‘The Parent/Teacher Interview’ was a well thought-out and brilliantly delivered piece that is a must see for teachers and a show I would highly recommend to others.
